Variegated Japanese Sedge
Botanical Name: Carex oshimensis ‘Evergold’
Exposure: Part Shade
Carex ‘Evergold’ is a fine-textured variegated cultivar grown for its brightly colored, arching foliage. Carex oshimensisis native to the dry woods and rocky slopes of Honshu Island off the coast of Japan.
‘Evergold’ performs best in bright shade. It prefers average to moist soil and works well in containers, rock gardens, and landscapes. It will not perform well in deep shade and too much sun will bleach out the variegation. Place in the right spot and you will be pleasantly surprised by this very attractive, popular grass.
