Rudbeckia fulgida ‘Goldsturm’
Height: 24-36″
Width: 15″
Exposure: Full Sun, Part Shade
Performance: Perennial

Rudbeckia fulgida ‘Goldsturm’ is a late summer to early fall perennial offering golden daisy-like flowers with intense blackish-brown eyes. It has coarse, hairy, serrated foliage that form a thick, dense mound. This vigorous perennial is a true performer in the north Texas landscape.

The genus Rudbeckia honors the Rudbecks, a father and son, both of whom were famous Swedish botanists and professors in the 17th and 18th centuries. The species fulgida is Latin for shiny or glistening. ‘Goldsturm’ is German for Gold Storm and was bred out of the Texas native Rudbeckia fulgida by a German breeder.

This hybrid was honored with the prestigious Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticulture Society and was also named the Perennial Plant of the Year in 1999 by the Perennial Plant Association.
